A bit about me
I’m a Senior Level Designer with over seven years of experience delivering both AAA and indie projects. My focus is on spatial storytelling, encounter design, and mission scripting crafting gameplay that balances challenge, flow, and emotional resonance.
I’m passionate about player agency and atmospheric world-building, and I take a holistic approach to level design that anchors strong narrative into gameplay. I thrive in cooperative, cross-cultural teams and love shaping spaces into evocative, unforgettable experiences.
Video games have always been an integral part of my life. Growing up with my cherished Nintendo and my PC system ignited an enduring passion playing Myst, Metroid, Mario and many others. This early interest led me to delve deeper into game development, eventually guiding me to the Vancouver Film School (VFS) many years later.
Before venturing into level design, I studied music for nine years, focusing on the violin, drums, and singing. This musical foundation deepened my appreciation for the pivotal role sound plays in life, storytelling, and video games. For me, music is life.
At IAD in Belgium, where I studied video editing and script supervising, I learned the craft of visual storytelling, mastering the manipulation of flow, pacing, and audio to evoke desired emotions and enhance the viewer's experience with an attentive devotion to the optimal viewer experience.
Today, I describe myself as quirky, constantly questioning the world around me in pursuit of deeper meaning and understanding.
In all honesty, my path hasn’t always been easy, but the challenges I’ve faced have shaped the way I see the world and the way I design. I draw strength from those experiences, and I bring that into every project I work on. Emotion, resilience, and curiosity guide how I build spaces, tell stories, and connect with players. It’s not just about design, it’s about creating something that feels lived in, honest, and human.
A touch of melancholy colours my soul, fuelling my love for blues and jazz. I relish moments listening to Nat King Cole or Roberta Flack, sipping Lagavulin, reading design magazines, and immersing myself in our fascinating nature.
Photography is another passion, allowing me to capture fleeting moments and tell stories through images that endure beyond the instant.
My passions for music, film, architecture, art, philosophy, and photography have enriched my worldview and enhanced my level design skills. Lately, I've developed interests in badminton and chess, alongside an aspiration to learn massage therapy which is becoming real as I am currently doing a level 3 in sport massage.
