The Cave

The Cave is a compact exploration level built around natural flow and spatial atmosphere. It explores how environmental cues, subtle platforming, and navigation challenges can guide the player through an organic underground space.

Design intentions

Mechanics:

The Players can walk, run, jump, crouch, interact and collect crystals, and navigate vertical spaces.

Level Design:

The level includes environmental puzzles and light traversal challenges. A central set-piece provides visual focus and spatial variety.

Motivation:
The experience was designed to feel light and atmospheric. It could function as an introduction, a midpoint, or a conclusion within a larger game structure.

Method:
The cave was built using grouped subtractive brushes to support modularity and efficient level creation. These brush sets can be adjusted by moving vertices, allowing each formation to feel unique. A variety of cap shapes also contributes to a more fluid and engaging navigation flow.
